Refresh Your Bedroom To Make It Hotel-Like

One of the things that we love about traveling is the ambiance and experience of staying in the hotel. The fresh and fluffy sheets, the luxury that it feels, it’s one of the pleasures in traveling that we all miss.

While we can’t book a stay in one now, and you probably have more time in your hands and are looking for a fresh environment, why not remake that hotel bedroom and transform your own now? Add a different light to your space and enjoy a good night sleep. Here are a few ways to do that.

If you want to sleep like a baby, you should switch your linens. We all know that it is one of the best parts of a hotel staycation. It makes you feel like you’re laying down in feathers and cotton. Hotels often prefer cotton percale for linens. However, if you don’t have that in your closet now, you can always just make sure your sheets are tucked in neatly.

Another tip is to have your own linen spray. Just mixed water with a few drops of essential oil, spray it in your sheets, and enjoy some cuddle time.

There is a reason why hotels never use cool or white lights in the rooms. It’s because warm lights bring a cozy ambiance that can make your rest peaceful. Cool lights make you energetic, so that’s a no-no. Switch your lights to warm or yellow lights, the same goes with your bedside lamps.

Don’t just love it when you climb down the bed, lay flat your feet to some fluffy rugs? The comfort that it brings feels as if you just want to bring it wherever you go. Carpet for the whole room, like the ones in hotels, can be pricey and not advisable in our tropical homes. Stick to fluffy rugs for that extra comfort, and a good alternative.

We know all of the surfaces of your bedroom can be full of stuff. Since you have more time now, do some spring cleaning and tuck away those you don’t need. Keep your bedside tabletop uncluttered and place some fresh plant to add a fresh touch. Be sentimental and place picture frames for that daily inspiration of people you love the most.

If you want to exert more effort, change the color of your bedroom into something more soothing. This will bring a better mood to your every day and can bring inspiration. Our recommendation: Lavender, Pale Green, French Grey.

We know you’ve been longing for a hotel stay. We can’t wait to see you all again when things normalize!

  • COZY AND HOMEY. This was our 6th or 7th stay and the staff is still very accommodating. The location is strategic being right beside convenience stores, mall, and restaurants… I can say we plan to make it a habit to greet the new year here.”

  • OUTSTANDING AND FRIENDLY SERVICE. The service at the facility is outstanding from arrival to departure. Any thing you ask for is done promptly and with a smile. The gym is pretty good with all the requirements of a hotel gym, with sauna, personal trainers and group classes.”

  • FABULOUS LOCATION AND SUPERB STAFF. The suites themselves are excellent with modern self catering facilities, fabulous bathrooms, comfy beds and exceptionally clean. The location is great for the CBD and restaurants and malls are all close by.”

  • COMFORTABLE HOME AWAY FROM HOME. I stayed in the Discovery suites hotel for 7 weeks in March and April while in Manila for work. And it was very easy for me to start calling it home after a few days! The location is great – podium mall across the street, Starbucks next door and across the street, megamall and Robinson’s galleria only a couple of blocks away.”
