There’s so much to love about June in Manila. Summer’s technically over and we’re just glad to bid the scorching summer heat goodbye. Even better, we’re looking at two holidays coming up this month! One word. Freedom! It’s a day to celebrate our freedom, all thanks to our brave Filipino heroes; and a day of freedom from work and school as well. We’re going to have to wait until the evening of June 14 to verify the date of this holiday, as it falls on the day of the first sighting of the new moon. Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid al-Fitr which marks the end of Ramadan. In the Philippines, Eid al-Fitr is considered a special non-working holiday. What a way to welcome the rainy season! We may be staying indoors more often, but that only means a whole lot of unwinding and relaxation. Soon enough, June will fly by and we’re halfway through 2018. Make the most of it.
